Gary Andrew Yonke 62, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away peacefully Friday October 2, 2026 at Erlanger Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 22, 1964 in New Brunswick, New Jersey to Robert E. and Diane Knueppel Yonke.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed; riding his bike, Frisbee golf, boating, fishing and fireworks. He loved cats and always had a cat companion. Gary has been a resident of the area since 1983. He was a department manager for Elder’s Ace Hardware in Chattanooga.

Survivors include his mother; Diane Yonke of Spring City and his sons; Christopher (Larissa) Yonke of Twentynine Palms, California and Alex Yonke of North Carolina, his brother; Greg(Dorothy) Yonke of Arizona, his sister; Deb Morris and her husband Doug Houck of Spring City,his grandchildren; Payton Yonke and Dylan Medlock as well as his niece; Sierra Morris and his nephews; Nicholas and Jonathan Yonke.

A Celebration of Gary’s life will be at a later date.
