Garner Reed, 73 of Grandview died Saturday January 9 , 2021 at his home.

Born on January 21, 194 7 in Rockwood, TN, Garner was the son of the late Raymond Reed and Pearl Reed White . He was a graduate of Spring City High School. Garner served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam , afterwards h e attended Roane St. Communit y College . Garner worked at the TVA as an ironworker at Watts Bar and Sequoyah , retiring in 2003. He enjoyed woodworking, garden ing, and working in his yard. Garner especially enjoyed time with his family and loved to spoi l his grandson. He was a member of the Christian Fell owship Church in Grandview.

He was preced ed in death by his sister Margie Minc y and his brother Allen Reed.

Survivors include his wife Ruth F. Reed of Grandview, TN, his son Boyd (Sherry) Reed of Grandview, TN, daughter Amanda (Don) Janow of Spring City, TN, four brothers Dorvin (Sandra) Reed of Spring City, TN, Cledious (Sharon) Reed of Grandview, TN, Clell (Brenda) Reed of Grandview, TN, Hargus (Marlene) Reed of Dayton, TN, six grandchil dren Chasity Morgan, Trevor Reed, Heather Richardson, Justin Janow, Ashley Prokop, and Becca Janow , twelve great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Zimmerman and Rev. Glen Smith officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Stebbins Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 6-8:00pm at Vaughn Funeral Home . Due to Covid-19 concerns masks will be required at the visitation and the service.
