Frank Matthews , Jr. age 66 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Roane Medical Center in Harriman.

He was born in Raleigh, North Carolina . Frank lived most of his life in Homestead, Florida before moving to Spring City in 2005. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a carrier for 27 years. Frank was a musician, playing bass guitar and guitar. He played in the band "Reunion" for many years and he taught guitar at South Dade College. Frank also loved to garden.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents Silas Franklin Matthews, Sr. and Lena Sapp Matthews.

Survivors include his wife Chrissy Matthews of Spring City, Tennessee ; son Steven Matthew s of Greenville, South Carolina; daughters Jessica (Scott) Shuford of Columbia, South Carolina, Allie (Clark) Coleman of Dayton, Tennessee, and Emily Matthews of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sister Jane Cagle of Fancy Gap, Virginia, and his grandchildren Ben & Evan Matthews, Sam, Luke, Eli and James Shuford.

There will be no services or visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rhea County Animal Shelter, 9118 Back Valley Road, Evensville, TN 37332.
