Obituary

Frances Martha Rhear, 75, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at her home.

A longtime resident of Rhea County, Martha was the daughter of the late Andy David and Bessie Lee McCampbell Smith. She was a homemaker and of the Church of God faith.

Martha was preceded in death by her first husband Robert T. McArthur, second husband William Earl Rhear, sons William "Bud" McArthur Rhear, Kenneth E. Rhear and David E. Rhear and brothers Robert Lee Smith and Johnny A. Smith.

Survivors include her daughter Ruth Ann Joy Reed of Dayton, son Jeffrey "Bimbo" Rhear Sr. of Spring City, brother Joe D. Smith of Riceville, sisters Barbara Armstrong of Etowah, Mary Clay of Lexington, Kentucky and Jessie Wilson of Summersville, Georgia, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Funeral services are Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Higgin officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Sulphur Cemetery in Grandview. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
