Edna J. Motes, 75, died Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Rhea Medical Center .

A lifetime resident of Spring City, Edna was the daughter of the late Jesse A. and Nannie Rose Scroggins Lemons. She was self-employed most of her working career. Edna enjoyed gardening and working in the yard.  She also loved to sing and had been a member of a gospel group.  Edna was a member of the St. Clair Baptist Church in Spring City.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Adena Lynn Motes and brother Robert Eugene Lemons.

Survivors include her husba nd Gilbert Motes of Spring City, children Ward (Connie) Motes of Morris, Oklahoma and Stephania Motes of Spring City, stepchildren Loretta (Ron) Masterson of Spring City, Nina (Jerry) Daniel of Pikeville and Anne tte (Joe) Kimery of Chattanooga, sisters Ruth Barnwell of Spring City and Clara Carter of Dayton, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services are Fri day, March 29 , 2019 at 3:00 p m in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Elkins and Rev. Billy Joe Vitatoe officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery .  The family will receive friends Frida y from 1:00 p m to 3:00 p m at Vaughn Funeral Home.
