Earl H. Dodson, 90, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his home.

A lifetime resident of Grandview, Earl was the son of the late Jesse and Helen Barger Dodson. He was a boat captain and retired from the water transportation industry. Earl attended Mercy Baptist Church in Grandview.

He was preceded in death by his children Tommy Roland and Mike Roland. Earl was also the last sibling of eleven brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife Leah Reed Dodson of Grandview, his children Lynn Dodson of Dayton, Jimmy Roland of Grandview and Susan Smith of Douglasville, Georgia, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services are Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Armour officiating. Interment will follow in the Reed Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
