D oug Fisher, 68 of Spring City died Monday, April 5, 2021 at his home.

Born on June 4, 1952, Doug was a lifetime resident of Spring City and a graduate of Spring City High School .  He worked 10 years at the Southern Silk Mill before going to work with his father in Fisher Trucking.  Doug retired in 2017.  He enjoyed working in his yard and enjoyed fishing.  Doug was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew Birchfield and Viola Monday Fisher and his stepsons Michael Headlee and David Headlee .

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Thelma B. Fisher of Spring City, his brother Russell J. Fisher of Spring City and his sister Regina (Bill) Metts of Spring City .

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Spring City Cemetery with Rev. Norman Huskey officiating.  There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rhea County Rescue Squad at 260 McGoffin Avenue, Spring City, TN  37381.
