Dorothy Elizabeth McDonald 70 of Pikeville, Tennessee passed away Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Bledsoe County Nursing Home in Pikeville. She was born on March 11, 1956 to the late Arthur Marion and Rushie Brown McDonald. Dorothy attended school in Bledsoe County and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, especially making cakes. Dorothy loved to play games; board games, cards, video games. She also enjoyed watching television. Dorothy loved to fish and take walks in the park. Her grandchildren were a true source of joy and she loved them dearly.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents as well as most of her siblings.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years; Joe McDonald of Pikeville, her sons; Robert McDonald of Spring City, Joseph (Betty) McDonald, Jr of Spring City, Chris McDonald of Kentucky and John McDonald of Kentucky. She is also survived by her sister; Louise (David Raines) Brown, seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Dorothy will be held Friday, October 23, 2026 at 2pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City with Rev. Robert Hurd officiating. The family will receive friends from 12pm until the time of the service. Interment will immediately follow at Spring City Memorial Gardens.
