Doris Irene Roy, 75, died Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Spring City, Doris was the daughter of the late Albert Richard and Leah Irene Brown Boles.  She was a graduate of Spring City High School, Class of 1960 and attended McKenzie Business School.  Doris was the secretary of Adcox Kirby Chevrolet in Chattanooga for many years and she retired from the Department of Transportation in Virginia after 20 years .  She was an active member of the Spring City United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Prayer Shaw Ministry.  Doris was a member of the Almost Home Foundation Animal Rescue, a member of the Red Hat Society and was a member of the O.E.S. Chapter 203 in Spring City.  She served as president of the Rhea County Democratic Party for several years and was also the former treasurer of the Pine Grove Fire Department.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Niranchandra B. Roy, sister Ruby Doughty and brothers Jimmy Boles, Herman Boles and Murel Boles.

Survivors include her niece Pat Doughty West of Rockwood, cousin Susie Strunk of Spring City, several great nieces and nephews, special great nieces Wanda Doughty and Sherry West, stepchildren Rama Roy of Atlanta, Georgia and Aanilkumar (Robin) Roy Sr., of Powder Springs, Georgia and several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Memorial services are Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Spring City Cemetery with Rev. Dale Wyrick officiating .

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spring City Methodist Church General Fund at P. O. Box 158, Spring City, TN  37381 or to the Animal Shelter Alliance of Rhea, 9118 Back Valley Road, Evensville, TN  37332.
