Doris "Cowboy" Houston, 75 died Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the Roane Medical Center in Harriman.

Born on May 8, 1945, Cowboy was lifetime resident of Spring City.  She was a graduate of Rockwood High School, " Class of 1963 " and also a graduate of Roane State Community College. Doris was a hairdresser after high school and was also an accomplished artist.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Doris was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spring City.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Willie Mae Galyon Rogers, half-brother Sandy and sister Iris Houston.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Jerry Houston of Spring City, children Freda (Michael) Hickey of Kingston, Tennessee and Jason (Michelle) Houston of Spring City and grandchildren Ryan and Kade Houston and Chloe Houston.

Funeral services are Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Price officiating.  Interment will follow in the Spring City Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
