Dr. Donald S. Pritt Sr. , 85 , died on Monday, June 4, 2018 at his home on Dayton Mountain .

Born in Elkins, West Virginia, Don was the son of Mr. Dorris and Mildred Mae (Spangler) Pritt Sr .  He attended Davis and Elkins College and went on to Chicago where he became a podiatrist.  He served in the U. S. Navy and was stationed at Bethesda Naval Hospital.  Don loved and excelled in his career, receiving national awards, serving on the board of the New York School of Podiatry, and becoming an author and speaker teaching best practices in his field.  A compassionate and outgoing man, Don spoke to school assemblies urging young people to stay off drugs.  He loved God and his family and pursued a life-long love of hunting, the outdoors, boating, scuba diving, and aerobatic flying.  He was known to pray, "Lord, let me put a smile on Your face today."

Don was preceded in death by his parents and his brother , Dorris Pritt Jr.

He is survived by his wife Janet E. (Jarrell) Pritt of Dayton Mountain , TN, son Thomas S. Pritt and wife Debbie (Teets) of Inverness, FL , son Dr. Donald S. Pritt, Jr of New York City, NY, and brother-in-law Dr. Bernard Henniger and sister-in-law Marilyn Kay Henniger of Crossville, TN

Funeral services are Fri day, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 am at the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Dayton with Father Sam Sturm officiating .  The family will receive friends Thurs day from 6:00 pm to 7:00 p m at Vaughn Funeral Home .  A wake with militar y honors will follow at 7:00 pm.  Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Elkins, West Virginia on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Deacon John Sarraga officiating .
