Curtis 'Brownie' H. Boles age 65 passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 20, 2021 (Father's Day) after a long fought battle with cancer.
Born on April 28, 1956, Brownie was a lifetime resident of Spring City. He was a graduate of Spring City High School and attended Roane State Community College where he earned an Associate's Degree. Brownie worked at Norfolk Southern Railway, owned Valley Video and worked for the Town of Spring City Water Department for 30 years before his retirement.
Brownie's family and friends knew him as a kind and patient man who loved God, family (especially his grandchildren) and his Mafia golf buddies. He trusted the Lord with all his heart and leaned not on hi s own understanding-Proverbs 35. He was a member of the Texas Grove Baptist Church.
Brownie had a lifelong love affair with golf. Being out on the golf course was a place of solitude for him; surrounded by God's work, his friends, and family. He was known for storytelling and laughed all the time.
He was preceded in death by his mother Rebecca "Becky" Fisher Boles and his sister Kay Elrod.
Brownie is survived by his loving wife Sandy Boles of Spring City, his father Harley Boles of Spring City, his children Dr. Nathan (Melissa) Boles of Hudson, NY, Natalie (Patrick) Fellers of Kennesaw, GA, Cassie (Gary) Reeves of Dayton, TN, Jay (Nancy) Gibson of Youngstown, FL and Brand olyn (Cory Hall) Murphy of Flintstone, GA, his sisters Diane (Jerry) Boles and Patsy (Lennie) Cecil both of Spring City and his grandchildren Zachary (Stephanie), Gracie, Mason, Asher, Oakley, Drake, Alexis and Jemma.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Texas Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Huskey officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at the Spring City Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8 :00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
