Claude F. White, 83, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at his home.

A native of Rhea County, Claude was the son of the late Van Buren and Zardie Zelma Moore White. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Claude was a welder and retired from Russell Industries. After his retirement, Claude and his wife, Wanda, moved from Pennsylvania back to the Rhea County community. Claude was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Heritage Independent Baptist Church in Spring City.

Claude was preceded in death by his brothers James White and Charles White.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Wanda Osborne White of Spring City, children Fred (Kim) White of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Freda (Wayne) Felger of Spring City, Joe White of Spring City, Mary (Robert) Meyer of Garner, North Carolina and Joanne White of Spring City, sister Barbara Moore of Spring City and Wilma Bridges of Englewood, brothers Robert White of Snellville, Georgia and Van White of Evensville, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services are Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Redman and Rev. Jerry Leffew officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
