Christopher Taylor Wood, 18, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Rhea Medical Center.

A lifetime resident of Spring City, Taylor was a student at Rhea County High School where he would have been a senior this fall.  He loved to hunt and fish, Taylor had extensive gun, knife and fishing reel collections.  He especially loved his 1993 red Camero.  Taylor was a game fowl enthusiast.  He attended the Valley Grove Baptist Church in Evensville.

Taylor was preceded in death by his aunt Angela Wood and grandfather Doug Clark.

Survivors include his parents Chris and April Simmons Wood of Spring City, paternal grandparents Vicki Clark of Spring City and Edgar Wood of Dayton, maternal grandparents Shorty and Connie Miller Simmons of Spring City, sisters Kelly (Kevin Morris) Wood and Kaitlin Wood both of Spring City and several cousins.

Funeral services are Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Herrell officiating.  Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
