Christopher "Chris" A. Wood, 41, died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.

A lifetime resident of Rhea County, Chris was a member of Laborer's Local #846 and worked at Watts Bar for many years. He was of the Baptist faith. Chris loved Tennessee football. He also was a game fowl enthusiast, a coon hunter and a member of the United Kennel Club.

Chris was preceded in death by his son Taylor Wood, sister Angela Wood and stepfather Doug Clark.

Survivors include his wife April S. Wood of Spring City, mother Vicki Clark of Spring City, father Edgar Wood of Dayton, daughters Kelly (Kevin Morris) Wood and Kaitlin Wood both of Spring City, brother Jimmy (Wendy) Wood of Corpus Christi, Texas and LeAnn (Kyle Garrison) Clark of Spring City, nephews Sean and Landon and nieces McKenzie and Hannah.

Funeral services are Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Herrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
