Chester Edwin McClendon, 79, died Friday, December 8, 2017 at his home.

Edwin lived in Spring City his whole life. He was a graduate of Spring City High School. Edwin worked as a master carpenter with his family. He loved to fish and work in his garden and with flowers in the yard. Edwin was a man of little words, but made a large impact on those that knew him. He was of the Baptist faith.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents John Howard and Margaret Alma McCabe McClendon Sr., daughter Carolyn McClendon Calvert Swafford, brothers John Howard "Junior" McClendon Jr. and Harold T. "Bogus" McClendon and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Delight McClendon of Spring City, sons Ed (Lisa) McClendon of Evensville and Mike (Connie) McClendon of Spring City, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Graveside services are Monday, December 11, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Wolf Creek Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
