Obituary

Charlie William Bare, 88 of Spring City, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Rhea Medical Center.

Charlie was born on August 26, 1937 to the late William and Decie Holloway Bare.  He was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Meigs County.

Charlie was a motorcycle mechanic and owned his own business.  He also enjoyed welding and iron working.  Later in life, he bought a saw mill and began cutting and milling wood.  That brought him a lot of pleasure.  He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with family, but his favorite "job" was being the "candy man" for his great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife; Shirley T. Bare, son; Randall Scott Bare, brother; Arnold Bare and sister; Judy Stump.

Charlie is survived by his son; Jerry Bare of Spring City, sister; Carlotta Williams of Michigan, grandsons; Will (Desiree) Bare of Dayton, and Nathaniel (Karlee) of Chatsworth, Georgia and his two great granddaughters; Charlotte and Isabelle Bare.

Funeral services will be Monday July 13, 2026 at 1PM in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Jerry Bare officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 4-6 PM at Vaughn Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Spring City Memorial Gardens.
