Carol R. Strader, 82 , of Corbin, Kentucky and formerly of Spring City, died Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the Stanford Care and Rehab Center in Stanford, Kentucky.

Born in Dayton, Tennessee , Carol was the daughter of the late James Garland and Isabelle Tallent Thompson. She was a graduate of Spring City High School.  Carol moved from the Rhea County community to Kentucky 45 years ago.  She retired from Rudd Construction Equipment in 1996.  Carol loved to cook and she especially enjoyed cake decorating.  She played bridge and was part of a bridge club here in Spring City.  Carol was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her son Ron (Angela) Strader of Stanford, Kentucky, brother Otis Thompson of Soddy Daisy, sister Jane Thurman of Chattanooga, grandchildren Derrick Strader of Corbin and Marricca Bentley and Kim Cornett both of Stanford and great grandchildren Ava and Chevy King both of Stanford.

A memorial service will be held on Thurs day , December 27, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating.
