Calvin "Earl" Wright age 81 of Spring City died Thursday, July 13, 2023 at his residence. He was born on July 30, 1941 and was a lifetime resident of the area. Earl was a graduate of Spring City High School. He spent his career as a machinist until his retirement from TVA-Watts Bar. He was an avid farmer and mechanic. Earl also enjoyed coon hunting. He was a member of St. Clair Baptist Church in Spring City.

Earl is preceded in death by his wife Judy Carol Wright, and his parents Quinton and Hazel TefferWright.

Survivors include his daughters Mary (Randy) Coley, Susan (Scott) Edwards, and Rachel Watson all of Madisonville, Tennessee; his two step daughters Connie (Tim) Wright and Deanna (James) Harrison both of Spring City, Tennessee; his brothers Muriel (Mildred) Wright, Thomas (Dorothy) Wright, Lloyd Wright, and Boyd (Carole) Wright all of Spring City, Tennessee; his sister Delores Lankford of Decatur, Tennessee; his nine grandchildren Kristin Coley, Brittany (Michael) Stamey, Randall Coley, Philip (Patrice) Edwards, Julie (Danny) Best, Elizabeth (Christian) Bell, Calvin Myers, Ashley, (Chris) Morton, and Hannah Wright; twenty great grandchildren; and special friends Steve Smith and Clet Vest.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Morton and Rev. Jim Didlake officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Vaughn Funeral Home.
