Buford Cranfield, 69, died Monday, January 22, 2018 at his home.

A lifetime resident of Spring City, Buford was the son of the late William F. and Mary Lucy Knox Cranfield. He worked as a press operator at Goodman Industries for 14 years and also worked at Dayton Products for 18 years. Buford loved to hunt and fish and also enjoyed gardening. He could fix anything. Buford was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his infant sister Judy Cranfield.

Survivors include his wife Decia R. Cranfield of Spring City, children Lynn Cranfield, Ronald Thompson and Johnny Ray Thompson all of Spring City, brothers Billy Cranfield, Coley Cranfield, Dean Cranfield and David Cranfield all of Spring City, Jackie Knox of Dayton and Gene Cranfield of Port St. Lucie, Florida, grandchildren Bridget Wiggins, Brian Thompson, Chris Thompson and Craig Thompson and great grandchildren Breanna and Coby Thompson and Caden and Conner Thompson.

Funeral services are Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Sherrill officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
