Boyd Cunningham, 63 of Spring City died on Friday, December 10, 2021 at CHI Memorial Hospital in Hixson.

Born on February 4, 1958, Boyd was the son of the late J. B. and Altha Brown Cunningham Sr. and was a lifetime resident of Spring City.  He was a graduate of Rhea County High School. After graduation, he joined his family in Cunningham Construction; building houses mostly in Rhea County for the next 45 years. He enjoyed the outdoors , especially hunting with his beloved beagles and fishing in local ponds and Watts Bar Lake. Boyd was an avid Spring City Bulldog football fan; especially when watching his grandson play. He was a member of the Mercy Missionary Baptist Church in Grandview.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Debbie Cunningham of Spring City, his son Billy Cunningham of Spring City, his sisters Diana Cunningham of Spring City and Loralee (Kirby) Wilcher of Knoxville and his two grandchildren Shelby Jo Cunningham and Ethan James Cunningham.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Jones and Rev. Stephen Zimmerman officiating.  The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
