Bonnie R. Swafford 89 went home to be with the Lord Saturday August 12, 2017 at the Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Major and Gertrude Newby Roberts. Bonnie was a native of Rhea County and retired after working at the Southern Silk Mills, Lazy Boy Corp and the Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center. She loved people and always stayed busy. Bonnie attended the Dogwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Grady Swafford, daughter in law Joy Swafford and sisters Dorothy Hill, Helen Garrison and two infant sisters.
Survivors include her sons Leon (Joan) Swafford and Ronnie Swafford both of Grandview, sister Hazel Loveday of Spring City, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday August 13, 2017 at 4 PM in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Dye and Rev. Tony Grayson officiating, Interment will follow in the Spring City Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 pm until time of services.
