Betty Payne, 83 of Spring City died on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at her daughter's home.

Born on August 27, 1938, Betty was a longtime resident of Spring City.  She was a graduate of Cumberland County High School.  Betty was employed by TVA until she retired. She was a loving mother and grandmother and liked to sing.  Betty was also a good baker and loved to shop.  She was a member of the Tollett's Chapel Methodist Church in Crossville.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Payne, her parents Samuel and Anne Barnwell Tollett and she was the last of ten siblings.

Survivors include her children Tonda (Charbo) Thompson and Sam (Jenny) Payne both of Spring City, her grandchildren Cody Isham, Kortni (Justin) Holquin, Shelb i (Dylan) Fisher and Samantha (Christian ) Sch u bert and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 5:00 pm at the Spring City Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Rick Smith officiating.  There will be no visitation.
