Betty James age 92 of Grandview, Tennessee died on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the Life Care Center of Crossville.

She was born on October 1, 1932 to the late Fred and Lydia Neal Broyles and was a lifetime resident of the area. Betty attended Spring City High School. She lived in Michigan for a short time before returning to work at the Southern Silk Mill for many years. Betty then worked at Rhea Medical Center in the cafeteria as a cook until her retirement in 1997. She loved to read and play bingo. Betty was of the Baptist faith.

Betty is preceded in death by her infant daughter Lois Ann Reed, her brothers Junior, J.M., and Neal Broyles, her daughter Gladys Mae True and step-son Lewis James.

Survivors include her children Connie Elmer Pelfrey of Grandview, Tennessee, Sonya Hale of Spring City, Tennessee, Billy Reed of Grandview, Tennessee; daughter-in-law Janie James of Grandview, Tn, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Spring City Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Angel officiating. There will be no visitation.
