Obituary

Barbara L. Hardy 86 of Spring City died Sunday, February 13, 2022 at the Rhea County Medical Center. She was born in Chattanooga on December 29, 1935 to the late Edward Coleman Moore and Emily Martin Moore. Barbara graduate d from City High School in Chattanooga. She and her husband Buck moved to Spring City in 1972 from Riverside, Californ ia. They owned and operated Har co Jewelry and Trophy for many years. After her retirement from her business, she was employed at Vaughn Funeral Home as a secretary and a visitation assistant. Barbara was a member of the Spring City United Methodist Church, where she sang in the Chancel Choir. She was also a member of the Spring City B . & P.W. Club for many years. Barbara loved dogs; especially her dogs "Macy" and "Marley". She also enjoyed reading and shopping with her friends.

Barbara was also preceded in death by her husband Buck Hardy, her son Stephen Hardy and her sister Patty Jaco.

Survivors include her children Stanley (Kim) Hardy of Harrison, Sherry Standridge of Rockwood, Kippy (Gary) Van Deusen of Spring City and Greg (Leslie) Hardy of Clinton, her sisters Colle e n (Tony) Sandmann of Marietta, GA and Carole (Sterling) McCallie of Ooltewah, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A graveside memorial servi ce will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Spring City Cemetery with the Rev. Dave Grant and Rev. Dale Wyrick officiating.
