Bailey Reed age 92 of Spring City died Friday, March 21, 2025 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, after a brief illness.

He was born on March 8, 1933 in Spring City to the late Henley "Bottle" and Ruth Vitatoe Reed. Bailey spent his entire life in Spring City. He opened Reed's Garage in 1952, he then served his country in the U. S. Army. On returning home, Bailey opened Bailey Reed Motors and has continued to work there for over 73 years, every day, until just recently. He always had a love of antique cars and had several in his personal collection. Bailey was a member of the Spring City Foursquare Church.

Bailey was also preceded in death by his infant daughter Lori Ann Reed, his brother Donald Reed and his sisters Virginia Weaver and Shirley Haydon.

Bailey is survived by his wife of 61 years Bettye Norris Reed  of Spring City, his daughter Jamie Reed and her husband Johnny Spivey of Maryville, Tennessee, his son Jim Reed of Spring City, granddaughter Chelse Reed of Dayton and his nephew Keith (Marcia) Reed of Spring City.

As per his request, there will be no visitation or services. Memorial contributions can be given to the Spring City Lions Club, P.O. Box 684, Spring City, TN.
