Obituary

Ann E. Thurman, 77, died Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Rhea County.

A lifetime resident of Rhea County , Ann was the daughter of the late Chapman "Chat" and Elvira Smith Walker.  She was a graduate of Spring City High School and formerly worked for Kayser Roth.  Ann was a member of the High Point Baptist Church in Evensville.  She enjoyed taking care of others and being around family and friends.  Ann loved bingo.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ola Thurman, infant son Timmy Thurman, brothers Arnold and Alfred Walker and friend Emma Pritchett.

Survivors include her brother Billy Walker of Soddy Daisy, sisters Lena (Larry) Owings, Bobby (Denny) Patterson and Kathy Mason all of Dayton, sisters-in-law Lola Heard of Pikeville, Leota Drake of Dayton and Verna Harris of Spring City, several nieces and nephews; who she loved as her own children and her best friends Betty Colvin and Norma Davis.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Revis and Rev. Kelvin Walker officiating.  Interment will follow in the McClendon Cemetery in Spring City.  The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
